The new COLDER interactive fiction novel by Mae Finch has released in early access just in time for Christmas. Its winter, snow-themed setting is perfect for the holiday season.

Check out the teaser trailer!

The COLDER interactive fiction novel is completely hand-written and hand-drawn

The title is available to play now over on itch.io. The story is set during the winter solstice, and will have players taking part of riddle-solving mini-games for survival and to find out what makes us human.

If this sounds interesting to you, the novel is completely free to check out. The developer is also seeking community feedback to improve the title, which you can check out here.

The title is a solo development project, with all the writing, art, and music being created by Mae Finch. The title is only available for PC at the moment, but the developer is planning mobile support.

The developer is also looking to add the following features in the future.

  • Voice acting
  • Complex decision trees
  • RPG elements
  • Alternate endings
  • Endless riddle mode
  • PLUS more riddles, more art, and more of your favorite, spooky lodge woman.

If you love text-based puzzle games, you should check out The Stamp, that launched earlier this year. It’s an innovative piece of interactive fiction that’ll get your mind going.
